NSD Crop Challenge | Title Work with Kelly Noel
Hello, SC friends! Welcome to the Studio Calico NSD crop! I often think of my pages in parts: photo, paper, embellishments, and title. Sometimes, I create simple and basic titles using letter stickers or a predesigned chipboard or puffy word, etc. Other times, I try to get creative with my title work. I'm always happiest with my titles when I try to think outside of the "box" and spice things up a little.
On this layout, I knew I wanted to use the vellum numbers in a big way and so the page didn't need much embellishing on the opposite side. Creating a dynamic title, however, created just enough interest on the right side of the page. Rather than lining up my alpha stickers next to or above/below my photo, I chose to place it on a curve. I love the way your eye travels from the beginning to the end of the title and then straight into the photo, which is the focal point here.
For this challenge, I want you to create a dynamic title of your own! Think of creative ways to create a title other than placing it in a straight line, or mix up your title by using different fonts or types of alphabets. Whatever you choose, make sure it stands out!
When you complete this challenge, upload it to the member gallery and leave a link to your project in the comments below. See ALL of the crop challenges here.

I used a Thicker and some sparkly alphas for my title and put them write on top of the photo.

I went all glittery with the sentiments on this card, and I used Kelly's idea of making a semi-circle title: https://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/211793-glittery-mother-s-day

Love this challenge. I have been thinking about this page for a while. I used large alphas and smaller thickers in my title to show the difference in size between my two fur babies.

It’s a bad picture as I am losing light and the page curled from the paint!

Is it room for a question?
I have never figured out how to glue transparent alphas without making large glue marks. How do you manage?
Great challenge!!!
pushed the wrong button to reply. if you look below you will see that I replied to your comment
of course! i used my tombow tape runner on these numbers and it worked really well. i just use it sparingly in multiple spots and it doesn't show through.

Ella I use glossy accents to glue my transparents down without much glue marks. You have to be careful though because a little goes a long way.

Here's my take on the challenge, a Birthday card with the foam thicker title flying in some balloons. I also created my own background paper using color theory dye ink, a cloud shape I cut out and my new mini ink blending tool.
