Using the Homestead Kits with Morgan Stockton

It’s finally feeling like fall (or if you were in the Midwest this past week, it kind of just skipped to winter), and there’s nothing I love more than putting on some fuzzy socks, cracking open a good book, and staying inside by the space heater. This month’s kit, "Homestead," has all the warm, cozy feelings I love about fall.

Starting off this week’s planner spread is a touch that isn’t by any means necessary, but sometimes I just like to start the week with something fun to look at, you know? As I was laying out all the pieces from my kits trying to decide what to make, this collection of lovely burnt oranges came together. I loved the mix of patterns with the foil triangles on the die-cut circle and the fall plaid. I pulled them all together for this tag (that maybe I’ll use later on something but for now is just nicely clipped into my planner), which has all the fall vibes—or all the fall feels, as it were.

The sweet, little fox die-cut was perfect for a vet appointment for my sweet, little, foxy pup. I layered it with another circle die-cut and the pink bow to add some visual interest and really make it stand out. I'm obsessed with the banner-flag stamp that came with the "Homestead" Documenter Kit. It’s the perfect size for calling attention to important items and you could color-code the flags based on importance if you wanted.

The most exciting part of my week was going out with a friend to a Gatsby Swing at the Station—so cool. The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra was playing 20s-era jazz at Union Station. The chic, metallic alpha stickers from the More Details Add-on were too perfect for spelling out “Gatsby Swing.” I added a textured backdrop for the die-cut banner by stamping a little wild bouquet of leaves and flowers. I loved the delicate shapes created by the stamp set that came with the More Details add-on.

I finished off my week by doing what I love best: staying inside. I just couldn’t resist putting the “let’s stay inside” journal card right in my planner. Pairing it with the cozy puffy sticker simply made sense. To tie it in with the rest of the spread, I added some more of the "greenery" using the More Details stamp set.

What does your planner have in store this week? Glitzy parties? Warm, fuzzy socks and a good book? Maybe a little of both?
