my friend's water broke and her son asked for me to look after him while they go to the hospital to check if she is in labour. She's not having contractions so they have to check so that they can count down to having to induce her if she doesn't start.

I really want to do some scrapping as I've been on nights this week but this means loads to me. My friend's husband is my pastor and when they arrived a year ago their son Evan wouldn't look at most of us, let alone talk to us, because he was so shy. The fact he actually chose me touches my heart so much it makes me cry. Those of you who believe please pray for my friends that the labour will be easy and the hospital helpful, please pray for the kids that they will sleep well and for me that I will be able to care for them well.

Praying for you friend that her labor would be easy and smooth. What a blessing for you to love on this little boy.  He must really trust and love you to choose you.  Keep us updated if you can!

Well they came back at 11.30 last night (UK time) and I went home as her parents were coming down. The kids were great, the youngest woke once but they are both so full of cold I don't blame her. Had a text this morning to say they called the midwife at 1.30 am and the baby was born at 2.24. Ava Mae Seren. Thanks for praying.

I saw this late, too.  Great story.  That is such an honor to be chosen as the person to watch him, especially due to his shyness.  Very special as he must truly like and trust you.  :o)  Congratulations to your friend on the birth of her baby girl.  I feel there will be a lot of babysitting for you coming up!

I got to see the baby this morning. She's gorgeous, very red and was still a little gungy as she was early, but still gorgeous. She has already scratched up her face! My friend was feeling good but is a little sore and tired.
